franchisee organizations to get business update from Taco Bell. The event draws throusands of attendees across the country and takes place at different location every year, with 2018 at Las Vegas. This serves as inspiration for the team to create the look and feel of this year’s FRANMAC. I was in charge of coming up with the branding for the convention, while working with the art director, animators and other designers to create the graphics and assets that would be used for the marketing and production. A portion of the meeting was pre-recorded in the format of news &amp; interview segments, which requires additional visual elements like virtual backdrops, lower thirds, etc. My role for this was to create the overall branding of the event based on the guidelines of Taco Bell’s new visual system, animate the graphics and lower thirds for the pre-recorded segments, as well as working with the other designers and animators to create contents for the meeting. We also teamed up with The Sheppard, an event and production company, to produce content, provide equipment and execute the meeting. BRAND CODES Taco Bell’s new global visual system was developed to create a more cohesive branding across&nbsp;multiple channels. Our creative goal for the guide book was to have a playful, cheeky look and feel since the targeted demographic is young adult, and at the same time be educational and easy to understand through the layout of information. The color palette, using mostly pink and purple, was an intentional choice to subvert the idea of masculinity, while also referencing the Playboy aesthetic of the 70s and 80s. Jonathan and I were very honored to work on such a meaningful project for the LGBTQ+ community that we are proud to be a part of. The project was a challenge to see how far I could manipulate metal and turn it into something beautiful.&nbsp; The inspiration came from Art Deco typography and neon tubes. Each number was painstakingly bent (by hand) from a single continuous copper wire. Everything is then polished and coated with clear enamel to keep them from being oxidized. The approach includes taking a bold color like yellow as its masthead, allowing the paper to attract attention, then using the iconic “T” as a branding element that is regconizable while freeing up real estate for other information.
