We were approached by the Youth Community Advisory Board at the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital to design and illustrate a sex ed guide book for young queer people who identify along the masculine spectrum, with contents written and developed by members of the hospital.
Our creative goal for the guide book was to have a playful, cheeky look and feel since the targeted demographic is young adult, and at the same time be educational and easy to understand through the layout of information. The color palette, using mostly pink and purple, was an intentional choice to subvert the idea of masculinity, while also referencing the Playboy aesthetic of the 70s and 80s.
Jonathan and I were very honored to work on such a meaningful project for the LGBTQ+ community that we are proud to be a part of.
All of the creatives were seen and approved by the Advisory Board at the Hospital.
