The Long Beach Airport Terminal is a masterpiece of the early modern architecture, bridging the transition from Streamline Moderne style of the thirties to the geometric abstraction of the post-war International Style. The airport recently underwent major rennovations to modernize its terminals. The signage systems however, remain dated and not compatible with the airport’s sleek and modern look.
We decided to take a stab at creating a new signage system, inspired by the curvatures of the airport that includes a new logo, experimental treatment to the typography and use of materials.
